Latest addition to Kentucky Museum Quilt Collection!

We asked, and you answered.  Earlier this year, the Kentucky Quilt Project offered the Kentucky Sun Quilt, made circa 1880s in Russell County, to the Kentucky Museum at less than its appraised value.  We put out a call for donations to The Kentucky Sun Quilt Fund and ultimately, 44 organizations, quilt lovers, and Friends of the Kentucky Museum responded to our appeal.  Leaders in this effort include the Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society, with contributions from its board as well as 32 individual members and affiliate guilds, and the Ridley Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, Bowling Green, Ky.

Thank you to the Kentucky Quilt Project for its interest in keeping the Kentucky Sun Quilt in Kentucky and to the above individuals and organizations for supporting the efforts to raise the money needed to acquire this textile for the Kentucky Museum collection.  The generosity of everyone involved has made acquisition of this quilt possible.
