Students Curate Exhibit for the KM

Every now and then, students in the FLK 470G Museum Procedures and Preservation Techniques class get to work on a very special project: an exhibit at the Kentucky Museum! From researching the content to writing the labels to mounting the exhibit, students have the chance to get hands-on experience in each part of the exhibit development process.

This year, students are working on an exhibit in conjunction with the International Year of South Korea called “Korea Through Kentucky Eyes.” The exhibit will take a look at the different ties between Kentucky and South Korea as well as how South Korean culture has become a part of Kentucky culture. Sections of the exhibit will focus on topics such as religion, pop culture, food, and the Korean War.

The exhibit will open next week, with an opening reception being held on Thursday, April 13th, at 3:00pm.
