The Kentucky Museum and VSA Kentucky partner each year to provide art classes for children with disabilities. This year 14 children came to the Museum for five Saturday’s for free art classes taught by a professional artist Suzanne Renfrow. The Museum chooses one work from each child to use in the Side by Side Exhibit. The children then each work collaboratively with a professional artist to create a special work. Each professional artist loans the Museum one of their works of art. There piece along with the children’s original work and the collaborative work are hung side by side in the Dorothy Grider Garden Gallery for a beautifully colorful exhibit. The reception honoring all the participants and their families is Saturday, May 6, from 2 PM to 4 PM. The reception is open free to the public.
Stop by this Saturday to see this delightful exhibit. Exhibit closes on June 24th.
